Introducing...

Jack Sullivan Pratt
Born on November 9, 2005
7 lbz, 15 oz
20 inches

Baby Jack is here! Right after I typed my last entry, I got the call. He swallowed meconium and amniotic fluid, so he is in the NICU but he is doing much better. He is on oxygen but it was at 100%, now it's down to 27%, so he is improving. They are monitoring his heart and he has an iv for hyrdation. My sister is doing well...and looks fabulous. She hasn't been able to hold him yet though, so she has been a little emotional but overall, she is doing well. Here are a couple of pictures taken by my father in the NICU.

In case anyone is wondering about the name...Jack is for John's father (who's real name is John but everyone calls him Jack) and Sullivan is our maiden name.

So, YAY for a new nephew...and keep those healthy vibes coming!

  1. What a cute baby!

All I can think of seeing the name is Jack Sprat...

Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean.
And twixt the two of them, they licked the platter clean.

    How sad is that?

  2. Pretty sad, Jay, pretty sad.

Glad everybody's doing well. What is it with the all the dramatic entrances? Sheesh.

He's adorable. I hope Mommy has gotten to hold him by now. Congrats and big hugs!

  3. Funny Jay, Suz and John thought of the same exact thing when deciding on a name...LOL They loved the name though so they went with it! She hasn't held him yet, ut he did have a good night so hopefully, today! Thanks for the well wishes guys! : )

  4. I like the name, and it's kind of cool to get Jack as The Name, rather than the diminutive of some other name they gave you and then didn't use.

Not everyone will leap to the association, and if they do it makes him memorable, even to the point of having fun with it when he's older.
