I have a feeling all of this will go well in to the evening hours. Had I not made the decision to limit my intake I might have been asking for caffeine on an IV drip. It's a good thing I love every minute of all of this otherwise this list might look a bit more...daunting.
Break time is officially over. Back to it I go!

I have a feeling...
...that the "busy, I barely have but a minute of free time, oh my gosh am I ever going to finish all I have or want to" season has officially begun.
Take this weekend. Tonight the girls and I are heading to my sisters house so we can be there tomorrow morning for my nephews last soccer game of the season. After that, we are having professional pictures of the kids taken. We will drive back tomorrow late afternoon so I can be home in time to attend the First Carver High School Hall Of Fame Awards Ceremony that night. Sunday I have another wake to attend (at the exact same funeral home no less as the one I was at earlier in the week for a family friend, this one is for my great aunt).
Next weekend we have the parade in Plymouth and Ryun's company holiday party (kudos to them for planning it early) on Saturday. I am pretty sure the plan for Sunday will be decorating the house for the Christmas (which we usually do Thanksgiving weekend but we have other thing going on).
On Thanksgiving, we will be heading to my sisters house for dinner and combining that with celebrating Katherine's 11th birthday (which is on Thanksgiving this year just like it was on the day she was born). Friday I am going to join the masses and shop and Saturday we will be at the Middleboro Christmas parade.
This doesn't even consider the myriad of meeting and kids events that will be going on in between. It's all good though. Busy is what actually keeps me sane...seriously.

Tired
It has been a busy week.
Monday night: BOS meeting.
Tuesday: PTA meeting.
Wednesday: back to school shopping.
Thursday: Jonas Brothers Camp Rock concert (free tickets my sister won on KISS 108).
Friday: Sean Kingston/Justin Bieber concert, overnight in Providence (Happy 13th Birthday Emily from Aunty Suz).
Saturday: friends birthday party.
Today: niece and nephew's birthday party.
So yeah...I have hardly been at home at all. Clearly this was training for the craziness that comes with the school year schedule which is, sadly, right around the corner.
I am really not looking forward to summer's coming demise. I am sure that I will eventually enjoy being on somewhat of a schedule but for the moment, I am just...sad.

Today
I decided against going to the pool today. Assuming the weather peeps are right, there is a 60% chance of showers and storms this afternoon. It is not worth packing everything up, getting everyone dressed, sunscreened and ready, only to have it rain. If I am being honest, the whole prospect of going made me tired just thinking about it. I am still not feeling quite right anyway, so another day of chilling at home seems smart.
This sickness is weird, whatever it is. All of the symptoms mentioned in my last post are fleeting...here in some moments, gone the next, and not all together at once. I have no idea what is going on, but, since I don't feel like death, I am probably going to skip the doctors and just wait it out for a while.
So my new plans for the day involve updating the calendar, responding to phone calls and emails I have let pile up, working on some PTA things (including deciding which Summer Leadership Meetings I will be attending), and general office work. The kids are happily entertained with a giant canister of play dough and toys downstairs, which they used for upwards of 2 hours yesterday afternoon as well.

I am really looking forward to the day...
...when I don't cry at the drop of a hat. Seriously, between Nana's passing and Ryun's work situation going from bad to worse, it has taken nothing (and more so than usual) for the tears to flow.
Like for example today...when I got Julia's progress notes for her IEP. Not something to cry over really (especially considering the progress she has made has been amazing) but I did. Why? Because a couple of small things are still works in progress like her ability to answer "wh" questions, her need for encouragement and examples beyond what would be considered the norm, and some continuing struggles socially. Still? I don't generally cry over these things.
I am so overwhelmed with what I have to do (in part because I did nothing last week except for what was necessary to remain, well, alive). I spent almost every waking minute in the rehab/nursing home with my Nana, mother, sisters and aunt experiencing what was probably the saddest, but most emotionally bonding time of my entire life. I wouldn't trade a singles minute of the time I spent there, but you know what they say about payback. I have so much to do, I don't even know where to start. I cry just thinking about the list. No, literally, cry.
My stomach has this huge, empty, yet full of tension and nerves spot that just doesn't seem to have subsided much, if at all.
Clearly, the first thing on the to do list needs to be some action steps that I can take to settle myself down and just let myself be. I am going to start tonight by heading to bed with the ipod and my classical music playlist. Hopefully, sleep will come quickly and with ease.

Schedule
Tonight's agenda: Mom plays taxi! How is this different from any other night? Well, it isn't really! Although sometimes Dad plays taxi too. Tonight looks like this: bring Kate to basketball practice, leave to bring Em to PTSA (sad I am going to miss), go back to get Kate, then back to Nichols to get Em.
This could be less confusing if I wasn't trying to avoid bringing Julia out past her bed time. Julia goes to bed every night at 7PM and still wakes up at 7AM tired. As much as kindergarten seems to agree with her, this is undoubtedly a side effect. She has always tired more easily (both physically and mentally) than other kids her age. It would also be less annoying if I could drive a stick shift and if Ryun's car sat more than two people comfortably.
Oh well. Such is life.

I really have no idea...
...how I fit this all in but somehow I manage.
Tomorrow: Emily has student council. I have school council. Katherine has an after school reading program and Julia will be arriving home...all happening at, of course, the exact same time. Ryun will be at work during all of this so I am thinking a clone of myself might be in order. Or...I could bring Julia to school council with me (since it is our first meeting it will be rather quick). Emily also said she could skip one student council meeting which would make it so she would be home in time for Julia. Hmm...
Oh but it get's better. Here's my Thursday for you:
12:30-2:30 volunteer in Julia's classroom. Go to an appointment at 3. Run home to pick up Emily (and if Ryun gets a late afternoon call and isn't be home, Julia). Go pick up Katherine after day 2 of the after school program. Go eat a quick dinner somewhere. Bring Katherine to dance at 5:30. Bring Emily to Scouts at 6. Pick Katherine up at dance at 6:15. Drop her off at home. Go back out to food shop. Pick Emily up at Scouts at 8.
UPDATE: I totally forgot, Emily doesn't have Scouts this week due to a scheduling change! YAY for a slightly less hectic Thursday!

So Much To Say, So Little Time
So what do you get when that happens? An entry that sums up an entire couple of weeks in two words.
Very busy.
Ok, Ok, I'll elaborate.
Let's start with the dream I had last night. It entailed a visit to the dentist in which my teeth were basically rotting out of my head. Nice, huh? Anyway, when discussing the options with the doctor, he said the best option would be to just give me something for the pain, and let them continue to decay, until they fell out. Dreams about teeth never mean anything good (trust me I have looked it up) but in this case, I am hoping that the dream was just a little reflection of anxiety about the dentist appointment I have coming up next week. Because otherwise? I am doomed.
I posted pictures of the trip to Vermont, but I didn't elaborate any further than that. It was all that I expected it to be and more. I am still in awe of the scenery. I am still in awe of the atmosphere at the Lodge. The people were just so...nice. We had all but one of our meals on the property. The food was delicious. On Saturday, we took a two mile walk on one of the trails through the woods. Aside from being exceptionally hot, it was probably the most beautiful part of the trip. On Saturday morning I got up at 5:30 to watch the sun rise over the mountains. I don't think I ever ever felt as at peace as I did in that time. At one point on Sunday, one of the bellhops asked us if we were enjoying our stay and I said that we were, but that I was sad that it was ending. He said, "It stays with you though." I couldn't have said it better myself.
It has been, and will continue to be a busy month. Just the this week alone is going to be crazy. Today, I remembered at the last minute that Katherine was going to the book fair at 2. It was noon when it occurred to me so I had plenty of time to get Julia and I ready and out the door. I love that they allow parents (allow and even encourage) to come to the book fair to help their child select a book (or in Katherine's case, three books). It's just one of many ways that I feel Middleboro encourages parent involvement. While there, I realized that Julia practically has celebrity status in Emily's classroom, as her class was walking by and almost every student (and the teacher) said smething like, "is that Julia?" or "Hi Julia." It was pretty funny but Julia had no idea what to make of it. We ran a few quick errands before we went back home. After the kids got off of the bus, they played in the yard for a while and then I brought Emily to voice. Ryun will be heading out for poker in a little while. Tomorrow I am volunteering at the Goode School to help assemble the take home book bags all of the kids get over the summer. Wednesday morning I will be at the MECC helping out with Earth Day activities. Wednesday night is Principal's Pride Night at HBB, as well as Family Night at the Book Fair(also at HBB), at which I will be working. Thursday is the 5th Grade Field Day and I will be there for a couple of hours in the morning while Julia is at school. Friday is the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at MKG, as well as the Student Of The Month Lunch, which I will be attending with Katherine who was chosen for that honor for the month of May. Friday night I am supposed to be going to a Crop (scrap booking) for the night (I am undecided on this right now but I always have so much fun when I go so I probably will). Saturday I am jumping head first into this "I really should sell my pictures" thing by setting up a table at a Bluegrass Festival in Carver. I am excited and nervous at the same time about this but unless I take the plunge, I will never know, right? I have a good selection of matted 8x10 photos and am making note cards with two of my favorite pictures (which I will sell in groups of 5 ). I am also going to sell coasters I had made a while back with my favorite ever beach picture on them. I am going to try, to fit in between all of the stuff going on to put together an album of some of my work.
Next week? Doesn't look to be any less busy with a graduation party, 4 doctors appointments for various members of the family, a PTA meeting, volunteering in Julia's classroom, a field trip with Julia's class, two concerts (Emily is in her school chorus concert, and her end of the year Burtwood School recital), a Girl Scout Meeting, and a yard sale at the end of the week.
It's all good, and I love volunteering, and I am glad the kids are involved in their various activities, but, I am not going to lie. I can not wait for it to be over and for summer to begin.

Busy
Today: cleaning the house, laundry catch-up.
Tonight: Mall with Emily's GS troop.
Tomorrow: drive, with all three kids in tow to Boston for Emily's regular appointment with the neurologist. Try not to have a panic attack (not because of the appointment but dude. I am driving to Boston).
Tomorrow after the dreaded drive: heading to Haverhill to spend the night at my sisters house (which is why I am letting Katherine play hooky tomorrow...no way I am driving to Boston, back home and then back to Haverhill...not with the cost of gas).
Saturday: more than likely going to a public conservation area in Haverhill, that has a real castle built in the 1870's on the property, as well as a couple of ponds, hiking trails etc.
Sun day: family gathering at Ryun's grandparents house.

On The Blog/Website Related Front
I need to...
...update the blogroll again.
...read more about website design and use my limited (as in still learning) HTML skills to design the Snapshots By Sharon website I have already bought the domain for.
...post an "already in my head just need to translate to paper" entry over at the education blog.
...ditto for the photography blog.
...further research and look in to the "blog for money" opportunity I had mentioned a while back.

At some point soon...
...there will actually be content here beyond pictures of the kids. Not that those aren't enjoyable to view, but actual "blogging" would be good too.
I meant to post about my adventures getting up early and heading outside the other day and how wonderful that was.
I meant to post about the BOS/FINCOM/School Committee meeting I went to the other night.
I meant to post about a bunch of "other things" too but, time? It has a funny way of escaping me, especially it seems, lately.
So stay tuned...the posts will get done, hopefully before what I wanted to say escapes the confines of my mind altogether.

Did I Mention...
...how much I LOVE this weather we have been experiencing? To put it in to perspective for you, I am planning on doing a major "spring yard cleanup" thing tomorrow and I am actually looking forward to it. I know, right?
My plan is to let Julia run around in the yard while I rake and pick up the millions of sticks all over the back yard. I also need to get to the Fire Station while she is at school so I can get a burn permit for this weekend. Aside from that I am planning on going through their "outdoor toys" and getting things organized in to the big old plastic box they have out there. We need to buy sand for the sandbox too.
I will probably end up food shopping tomorrow night as opposed to right after she gets out of school or while she is there. I won't have time in the morning between going to the bank, the Fire Department, an appointment I have to go to as well.
Anyway, I hope the nice weather is here to stay!
