Does anyone else have a problem with calling someone, whom you have called "Mr_____ or "Mrs._____" forever, by their first name?
Case in point: I am chairing the Cultural Enrichment Committee for the PTA. I have been talking back and forth with the principal of Emily's school (who, coincidently was my principal in elementary school) and he is insistng that I call him by his first name, and it feels... strange.
Maybe it has something to do with calling him by his first name confirms the fact that I am, well, not his student anymore. Calling him "Mr. Morris" somehow, makes me feel younger.
