Emily's EEG...

...is scheduled for July 5th-7th. I wasn't aware that it would be a 2 day event but, I did get some explanation on the whole high does of valium thing.

Basically, she will need to be there sometime during the afternoon of July 5th. They will connect the leads to her head and the next morning, the doctor will read the results. If she has this ESES thing, the doctor will set her up with the high dose of valium, and read her results again the next morning. The valium should clear the EEG and she would most likely be sent home with a prescription for valium(a lower dose obviously). If the doctor reads the results the initial on the 6th and she does not have ESES, she can go home then (after I assume, what will be a conversation about what we will do for her to help with the moods and bedwetting (which has started up again...not the moods the bedwetting)).

So, next up will be scheduling the MRI and the neuropsychological testing, as well as a follow-up appointment with Dr. S, the director of the Multidisciplinary Tuberous Sclerosis Program at Children's.

  1. Hi Sharon,

Have you met Dr, S.? I have met him at some TS events. He seems like a real sweetheart. My granddaughter - age 6 - having her yearly round of tests at Mass General today and tomorrow. She has TS but we are lucky that it is a mild version.
