What is your true, honest to goodness opinion about PTA...what they do, who joins, what meetings are like? Feel free to answer even if you have never been to a meeting, or a member, or attended a PTA event in your town. I am looking for opinions/impressions from both members and non members alike!
And please, be honest. I am pretty hard to offend! : )
I think it's a good idea to have PTA because we need to have a group of parents to represent the students.

ReplyDeleteI honstely am on the fence about my towns PTA. PERSONALLY i think the fundraisers (overpriced items) are an atrosity (sp). This is the first year i let meg go out and sell to a few neighbors, but the pressure it puts on those kids to sell to what have a guest author in the school that they wont care about? Or to sit in a field on a mosquity nite watching a movie the kids could care less about that we've seen a bazillion times.
ReplyDeleteI dont know. Maybe i dont know that much about them, but i am not impressed at ours. Not to mention the VP throws around "I AM VP OF THE PTA SO AND SO BETTER NOT MESS WITH ME OR SHE"LL GET NOTHING" yah left a sour taste in my mouth.
