Does anyone have any idea why, after installing a brand new printer Cartridge, my printer will not make a black and white copy? It shoots out a blank white page.
I have removed the plastic tag thingy on it, it appears to be installed correctly and nothing else is wrong that I can tell.
It's a Lexmark 1100 series all-in one, if that helps.
... the cartridge might be old and have the jets stopped up... rub some alcohol on the area where the jets are..... then print a test page....

What he said, and also can't hurt to make sure the printer has been turned all the way off for a moment and then on, double check the thing is in right, and do a self-test at the printer itself, without using the computer. Some printers have a test button or menu option. Some you turn off and then hold down form feed or line feed while turning the printer back on, which tells it to print a test page. My old dot matrix didn't do a test "page," but would just keep printing a successive pattern forever, until you turn it off to stop it.
